Manufacturing SOP Software Case Study
Agricultural Manufacturing Case Study
Client Problem:
A large agricultural manufacturing company needed to update and standardize their operating procedures for the manufacturing SOPs and processes across their plant. They needed to write or rewrite all of their standard operating procedures to provide consistent and high quality documentation and support materials while meeting their regulatory requirements for operations. This client had a number of plants across the country and around the world and needed to establish a replicable program and a pilot location before deciding on the final approach for tracking SOPs and sharing best practices. The selected a pilot plant that represented a critical and immediate SOP and training development need.
Solution:
The client selected ExpressTrain ExpressTrain and its manufacturing SOP software and templates to help capture their current and new manufacturing standard operating procedures (SOPs) into a single repository. They established standards for all manufacturing SOPs, and best practices for training and job aids to reduce cost and risk, and make implementation more streamlined and consistent. ExpressTrain is being used with a commercially available document management system and is helping with tracking and reporting on training at the pilot plant.
Results:
Based on the success of this pilot, the client will create standards for all of its plants in order to maintain quality and meet regulatory requirements while allowing for local plant configuration appropriate to the local environment. The reduced costs the client will experience will be greater than the cost of the software system.
